During your winter holidays in St. Martin, the active village in Salzburger Land, you have over 30 km of easy-to-moderate cross-country trails to choose from.

And your Nordic-style skiing enjoyment can begin right here in the center of St. Martin.
In magnificent weather, and on cross-country trails that are beautifully maintained and freshly tracked every day, you can ski along a broad network of trails that take you from St. Martin to Lammertal.

Cross-country skiing in the town center of St. Martin am Tennengebirge

Whether you prefer the sportier “skating” style or to use “classic” technique: The ski trails in St. Martin and Lammertal have something perfect in store for everyone. Gentle slopes alternate with challenging climbs through forests blanketed deep in snow.

Sun-worshipers enjoy powering along the scenic alpine trails with views of the Tennengebirge and Dachstein Massif. 

Rookie XCers, for their part, take advantage of the flatter sections of the Gögl Loipe, for example. Once you have warmed up on the easier stages, the easy climbs on this route offer you the opportunity to start clocking your first vertical gains on cross-country skis.

Bergfex Practice Trail

Panorama Loipe

Connecting trail between St. Martin and Lammertal
Length: 2.5 km 
Style: classic 
Elevation Change: 145 m

TIP: Ski down into Lammertal Valley, a length of 350 m with a 15-20% incline.

Lammertal Loipe

Length: 6 km 
Style: classic and skating
Elevation Change: 110 m
Difficulty: moderate
Start/Finish:
100 m west of the Lungötzerhof into Lammertal. Taking you on a gentle climb, the trail brings you to the area of the source of the River Lammer and to the Lämmerhof, then around the Spiessfelder back to the start.

TIP: Marvelous views of the steep, towering cliffs of the Tennengebirge.

Aualm Loipe

Length: 4.5 km 
Style: classic and skating
Elevation Change: 120 m
Difficulty: moderate
Start/Finish: Gasthof Lämmerhof.
This trail takes you on a gentle climb leading across the farm fields at the foot of the mighty rock faces of the Tennengebirge, all the way to the uppermost Lammer Valley. 

TIP: Experienced skiers have the option of taking a variant that begins around 300 meters before the crossing for Gasthof Lämmerhof, making a left and climbing through forest on the so-called Panorama Loipe in the direction of St. Martin.

Cross-country skiing in Lammertal

Lammertal has long since become an insider tip for cross-country fans. During your cross-country escape, you are greeted by exceptional outdoor experiences.

Tip: On the floodlit trail in neighboring Lungötz, night-owls have the opportunity to pursue their XCing passion until long after sunset.
